Abstract:

Fish community data pre- and post-artificial reef deployment. Data represents 6 sampling efforts across 9 reefs in fall, spring, and summer and include fish densities. Data were collected from December, 2015 to October, 2017 using ROV point-count methods.

Purpose:

To analyze fish communities before and after artificial reef deployment.

Methods:

Pedestal and pyramid reefs were manufactured by Walter Marine in Orange Beach, Alabama and constructed of marine-grade concrete embedded with limestone and oyster shells. Artificial reefs were deployed in December 2016 and were 1.8 m in height. Fish communities were sampled by ROV point-count following Patterson et al. (2009). Patterson III, W.F., M.A. Dance and D.T.
